Some types of cancer grow very fast, and therefore they are very dangerous, and quite cruel to the organism. Still, in my professional opinion there is no worse cancer on a civilization or society than that of socialism. But you ask; how can the cancer of socialism grow fast in a country which loves freedom, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and free markets? It makes me wonder myself sometimes, but I've been observing this for quite a while now, and I think I have the answer. Indeed if you have a few moments I would like to talk to you about this for a bit.
You see, one thing that socialism does is that it gets into the fiber of the society, and it recruits people promising them things that other people will have to pay for. Because people like to get stuff, and because it is human nature to want to get more and work less there are all sorts of people signing up. Once these people have been brainwashed that Santa Claus is going to come and give them free gifts, they start feeling entitled to these wonderful future things.
Once the socialist have a critical mass of people who have lined up to get something for nothing, then they have a powerful political force to elect whom they want, and they will elect those candidates which promise them the things that they feel they deserve. If someone comes along and says no, it's not right for you to get something for free that you didn't work for, and it certainly not right to go and find a minority groups such as the 1% to pay for it all - then, what happens is the mass mob of freshly recruited socialists shout down such words of reason.
Those government socialist leaders once elected next have to find a way to deliver what they promised, or trick people into thinking they will get it in the future, at which point the leaders themselves become immoral and corrupt, and proxy thieves for the masses. Anyone who stands up and says; this just isn't right is immediately labeled something negative. Some of their favorite words are; racist, bigot, narcissist, and egomaniac. What is interesting is that most people who have an earned ego don't really care if someone calls them something which they aren't. They merely blow it off.
The socialists believe that everyone is like them, and they don't want to be called anything negative, so they assume that this strategy will work. It does work on those who see through their game, but it works on everyone else as a matter fact it works so good that they get in line together, and anyone it steps out of line they call a name, thus keeping control of their group while they attack the voices of reason. It's hard for people to stand up and do what's right, stand on their principles, and have a strong enough earned ego to say; no, that is wrong.
Nevertheless, I ask that you as an American standup right now, today, and tell the socialists; no. What they are doing is unacceptable, and we've come far too far in this great country of ours to throw away all that history in a mere 20 year period just and allow the rise of this insidious cancer. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it, but most of all I hope you will do the right thing.
